What Do We Do?

Community Cares Coordinator

Bushey Community Cares offers a FULLY confidential service of practical and emotional support to our community under the coordination and guidance of Judith Barnett and her team of volunteers. Launched in 1997, it acts as a blueprint for more than 40 welfare groups across the United Synagogue. We operate under three main groups, each led by an experienced group leader

Family Support

Including:

  • Befriending service
  • Home visiting
  • Shopping
  • Transport arrangements
  • Simply dropping in for a chat
  • Arranging meals, etc
  • Financial and Legal
  • Bereavement Support

Financial & Legal

Providing assistance for areas including:

  • Personal and business matters
  • Employment issues, including help with CV writing and job searching
  • Hardship Fund

Bereavement Support

  • Assistance and support for the bereaved and their families
  • Bereavement befriending
  • Grief support

Community Hardship Fund

The Bushey Community Hardship Fund makes interest free loans to members who are experiencing financial hardship, to be repaid as and when the recipient’s finances permit. All applications are treated entirely confidentially by the small team who administer the fund. Please get in touch in the strictest confidence.
